She will be taking questions from the audience, as well as using audience members to model various hats.  Pat will also discuss how to wear a hat regardless of whether or not someone believes they look good in one. She will show us that there actually is a hat for every head! Join us in the program room for a fun time of learning and enter your name in a drawing for a hat!

Mitchell Craig –Through a pictorial presentation, Mitch will be sharing his experiences of hiking the Appalachian Trail on Saturday, August 25th at 1:00 pm.  Many in our community followed his journey on Facebook as he travelled over 1,000 miles on foot and lived out this rugged adventure.  Please join us in the program room for a visit with Mitch!

Good to Know:

National Library Card Sign-Up Month –September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide join together to remind parents, caregivers and students that signing up for a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning. MDL is celebrating with the theme, Reading Takes You Everywhere. More information to come!

We can laminate –As new Medicare cards are issued, the library would like to remind everyone that we can laminate any small card for .50 cents.

Book Club –The next title for our Book Café meeting in September is Mount Vernon Love Story: A Novel of George and Martha Washington by Mary Higgins Clark.

“Charming, insightful and immensely entertaining in its unique presentation of one of America’s legendary figures, Mount Vernon Love Story, by famed suspense writer Mary Higgins Clark, shows the reader the man behind the legend, a man of flesh, blood, and passion, and in the author’s skilled hands, the story and the man come fully and dramatically alive.”

Pick up your copy at the library and join us for coffee, cookies and a discussion of this riveting read in September.
